The hotel was set in a central area very close to Sage Gateshead, there were lots of people hanging around, and local bars / clubs. The employees were personable and kind.

It was a handy base for sightseeing in Newcastle upon Tyne. I had much fun and met incredibly nice and super friendly staff. - the location was marvelous, absolutely perfect, relatively near a bustling market hall.

The staff were friendly.
The carpets really need replacing, the room hadn't been dusted for some time, and the mattress was extremely soft. The alarm didn't work, and no external calls could be put through to the room, despite trying 3 times. There was no shower gel but thankfully I had brought my own. The television wasn't tuned in properly. There has been an attempt to update bathroom fittings (Grohe taps, for example) but they have been fitted very badly.

All the staff we encountered were very friendly and obliging.. The breakfast was excellent. The breakfast was excellent - freshly cooked to order. The location suited us perfectly.
Being on the front of the hotel was a bit noisy but the double glazing meant we were not really disturbed. The room was a little tired but adequate.
